\nAs we\u2018ve mentioned\npreviously, quite a few of the \u201clong-serving\u201d computers in\nRuaraka need to be replaced to assure that IT teaching at St.\nScholastica Catholic School may continue. Michael Schmelzer and\nWerner Buchholz had made a great job of prepping the exchange. The\nnew server hard drive was all ready, and Michael had obtained a\nfurther 36 drives for the exchange, all of which had been packed into\nboxes and readied for air transport. Birgit & Michael \u201cMike\u201d\nScholtz went to the airport in Z\u00fcrich one day prior top departure to\ncheck in two of the three boxes, just in case there were any problems\nduring transport with Swiss airlines. On departure day, Michael &\nWerner flew in from Frankfurt to meet Birgit and Mike in Z\u00fcrich. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tThen, something outrageous\nhappened. As the flight was booked solid and there had been problems\nWerner\u2019s seat reservation, both he and Michael had to get up and\n\u201cgrudgingly\u201d take a seat in business class. Well \u2013 good for\nthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tAfter touching down at\nNairobi airport, the four awaited for the boxes of computers to\narrive with bated breath. And lo and behold, even all the baggage\nthat had been checked in back in Frankfurt arrived in full, in\ncomplete contrast to the experience from previous years with Turkish\nAirlines. After paying a substantial fee to Kenyan customs, the four\nwere collected by Sisters Paula and Rosa, who drove them to the\nconvent. Following a quick dinner in Ruaraka, everyone went to bed,\nas they would have to be up early in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tThe following day, the new\nhard drive was installed into the server and the first computers\n(also known as \u201cclients\u201d) were installed as well. However, the\nprinter, which needed new cartridges, simply wouldn\u2019t work, meaning\nthat new drivers would most likely need to be installed.
