Then Michael was introduced to the IT teacher\nRichard, who was pleased to see us, and the classroom was inspected.\nWe quickly realized why. So let’s get to\nwork. The new server hard disk was installed, the network interfaces\nwere set up correctly and the first test installation could be\nstarted. After the installation, the network card was set correctly\non the client and we immediately had a connection to the server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Michael was\nconcerned about the slow speed during the client installation, so he\nstarted to examine the network. There are simply too many switches on\nthe way to the IT room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Werner found the\nconnection from the server to a switch in the classroom and so\nMichael started to rebuild the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the network\nwas rebuilt and Richard had controlled the first client we had the\npossibility to install more computers. But the hardware proved rather\nstubborn sometimes. After the installation it just didn\u2019t want to\nrun anymore and resulted in a kernel panic. Yet Michael found a\nsolution. He created a bootloader script in which all necessary\ninformation is contained. This script has to be executed after the\ninstallation and all computers run as they should. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But a further\nsurprise was waiting. We had installed computers and two days later\nthey failed. The current situation is as follows: 35 computers are\nrunning and 13 computers do not work. When enough computers were\nrunning, Michael took care of the ones that did not work and Werner\nmade an inventory of the two cabinets in the IT classrooms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
