Journey to Kenya

On January, 7, 2019, Werner was picked up in Kenzingen at 4:30 a.m. by Christoph. On their way to Freiburg they stopped at Teningen to collect Michael Schmelzer.

At 6:30 a.m. we then took the train via Basel to Zürich airport. First our luggage was checked in (Werner had been concerned because of the weight of hand luggage – but there were no problems) and then went through security check. Michael was checked a bit more carefully as he simply had too many electronic parts in his hand luggage. After the second check of the hand luggage we were through security and could enjoy breakfast. Boarding went smoothly, too, and so we were looking forward to the flight. After a pleasant flight we landed in Nairobi at 7:45 p.m. local time. The entry control took some time but there were no complications. Our luggage was ready on the conveyor belt and so at 9 p.m. Sister Lucy and Sister Rosa welcomed us warmly and took us to the convent.
